LATEST NEWS - March 2012.
The third book in the Dirty Leeds trilogy - Scandal FC -
looks likely to be released in time for Christmas, the simple
reason for its delay being the fragile economy which has
probably caused difficulties for most indie publishers.
Also due to be released in time for Christmas 2012 is the
'unabridged' version of Dirty Leeds, a closer version of
Robert's original epic written in 2009. This version is to be
called After Extra Time - Dirty Leeds Uncut and will
feature more than a hundred pages previously edited out. And in
addition to all those extra pages, a percentage of the profits
from each book sold will go to the Yorkshire charity Candle
Lighters. More details to follow.
OBTAINING COPIES OF ROBERT ENDEACOTT'S BOOKS
All of Endeacott's works are generally available via high street
book stores, HMVs and online, though of course they may need to
be ordered in the case of actual real-life human-run shops! If
you are having any difficulties obtaining copies of One
Northern Soul / No More Heroes / Fanthology /
Dirty Leeds or Disrepute - Revie's England then
the author may have copies available for purchase directly
(payment by PayPal or good old fashioned cheque). Any enquiries,
please write to me using the link on the Contact page.
Scandal
FC is to be published in September 2011. Robert Endeacott
is approaching finishing the first draft and looking forward to
hearing what the publisher and editor think of it. Scandal
FC is the final instalment of the Jimmy O'Rourke/Dirty
Leeds trilogy and covers season 2002-03, when Jim is into
his 50's! Once Scandal FC is completed, Robert's plans
include revisiting some short story ideas as well as working on
a sitcom premise plus a brilliant (in his words, at least!) idea
for a television drama series. And all on top of hoping that
someone with great taste, originality and ambition takes up an
option of making his Heath Robinson script into a film!

The follow-up to Dirty Leeds was published in June 2010. "DisRepute - Revie's England"

Robert receives another mention in the
Yorkshire Post.
Dirty Leeds
is a struggling industrialised city in the North of England,
1961. It has seen better days.
Dirty Leeds
is the city’s club, laughably called a
football team, their home ground Elland-road, laughably called a
stadium. Both have seen better days.
Dirty Leeds
is where young Jimmy O’Rourke was born and
bred, brought up by his grandma close to Elland-road. A rare
breed, he is one of the few Leeds United followers of the early
60’s. Even more unusual is his ambition to play professionally
for the team. He is hoping to see better days.
Dirty Leeds
is the label thrown at the Leeds
United team in 1964 by the Football Association. Managed by Don
Revie and containing players such as Billy Bremner, Jack
Charlton, Bobby Collins, John Giles and Norman Hunter, the team
had just won promotion to Division One with a record number of
points, while certain other first teams had much worse
disciplinary records. But mud sticks.
Dirty Leeds
is a hidden history of Don Revie and
his Leeds United men, as they vie to be the best team in not
only England but Great Britain and Europe too. And Dirty
Leeds is the story of Jimmy O’Rourke’s dramatic life from
1961 to 1974.
